一、that用作代詞

　　1、that用作指示代詞的意思是“那,那個”�？芍盖懊嫣岬降哪羌�事,也可指在空間或時間上較另一事物遠(yuǎn)的事物或人,還可指要表明的或要提及的事物、想法等。

　　2、that用作關(guān)系代詞時,指人或事物,同時又在從句中充當(dāng)句子成分。that偶爾也可引導(dǎo)非限制性定語從句。

　　3、that還常用以代替who, whom, which,但that...which中的that用做關(guān)系代詞的先行詞。

　　I am interested in all that you have told me.

　　我對你告訴我的一切都感興趣。

　　Everything that a computer does is dependent on the man who uses it.

　　計算機所做的一切都取決于使用計算機的人。

　　二、that用作連詞

　　1、that用作連詞時可引導(dǎo)主語從句、賓語從句、表語從句、同位語從句和狀語從句。

　　2、that還常引導(dǎo)間接引語或形容詞后面的從句。

　　3、that在以it作形式主語的句子中或引導(dǎo)賓語從句、狀語從句時�？墒÷浴�

　　I strongly believe that he is innocent.

　　我堅信他是無辜的。

　　They heard the news on the radio yesterday that a typhoon was coming.

　　昨天他們從收音機里聽到臺風(fēng)要來的消息。

　　三、that用作形容詞

　　that用作形容詞時，可用作定語，后面加名詞，表示那、那個等含義。

　　Don't tangle that group of rough boys.

　　不要同那些野孩子糾纏在一起。

　　At that time he was very busy.

　　那段時間他很忙。

　　The owner made a dive for the rejected clothing and began to snatch it this way and that.

　　店主沖向那堆挑剩的衣服,開始翻來翻去。
