whatever的用法

　　Whatever有兩個用法，一是引導名詞性從句（如主語從句、賓語從句、表語從句），二是用于引導讓步狀語從句。

　　1.用于引導名詞性從句：Whatever she did was right.她做的一切都是對的。

　　2.用于引導讓步狀語從句：Whatever we said, he'd disagree.無論我們說什么，他都不同意。

　　no matter what的用法

　　No matter what只能引導讓步狀語從句（不能引導名詞性從句），其意為“無論什么”。如：No matter what happened, he would not say a word.不管發(fā)生什么情況，他一句話都不肯講。

　　Whatever與no matter what例題

　　It is generally considered unwise to give a child____he or she wants．

　　A．whatever B．no matter what C．whenever D．no matter when

　　此題應選A。容易誤選B。選項C，D顯然是錯的，因為句中的wants缺賓語，而C，D兩項不能作賓語。至于C，D的區(qū)別，可這樣描述：no matter what只能引導狀語從句，而不引導名詞性從句。而whatever既可引導名詞性從句（＝anything that），也可引導狀語從句（＝no matter what）：

　　1.引導名詞性從句（只用whatever）：

　　無論他做什么都是對的。

　　Whatever he did was right．

　　2.引導狀語從句（兩者可換用）：

　　無論你說什么，我都不會相信你。

　　Whatever you say，I won't believe you．

　　No matter what you say，I won't believe you．
