一、until的中文含義及用法介紹

　　until作為介詞時(shí)，用于肯定句，意為直到…為止，表示某一動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)一直持續(xù)，這時(shí)主句的謂語動(dòng)詞是延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞。用于否定句時(shí)表示的是一種持續(xù)的否定狀態(tài)，否定狀態(tài)一結(jié)束，肯定動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)就開始。

　　例句：Let's wait until the rain stops.

　　咱們等雨停了吧。

　　Until she spoke I hadn't realized she wasn't English.

　　直到她開口說話我才知道她不是英格蘭人。

　　Until now I have always lived alone.

　　直到現(xiàn)在，我一直獨(dú)自生活。

　　1、作為介詞和連詞時(shí)，都是意為直到;直到...為止。

　　例句：We're open till 6 o'clock.

　　我們營業(yè)到6點(diǎn)鐘。

　　Can't you wait till we get home?

　　難道你就不能等我們回到家嗎？

　　Just wait till you see it. It's great.

　　你就等著直到看見它吧。好看極了。

　　2、還可作為名詞，含義為(大商店中的)交款處，收銀臺(tái);(現(xiàn)金出納機(jī)的)放錢的抽屜。

　　例句：Please pay at the till.

　　He checked the register. There was money in the till.
